Our Staff
We
take great pride in our staff members as they are
meticulously chosen and invested in. They are highly
qualified professionals who share a strong awareness
and care for the children.
All our academic staff meets
the following criteria :
University graduates (some have Master’s
Degrees)
Perfect
fluency in French, English or German, according to
the section they are working in.
Presentable
and with high educational background
Motivated,
ambitious, and career-oriented in the area of
childhood education
Talented
in listening to and interpreting the moods of the
children
and providing for them accordingly.
Once
teachers pass their preliminary interview, they are
assigned to on-the-job-training for 3 months in one (or
more) of the classes. They are carefully monitored for
that period of time after which they are permanently
assigned to a class.
All
academic staff is provided with training on a monthly
basis. The following training courses are examples of
those that have already been given:
Child Psychology
Behavior Modification / Discipline
First Aid
Speech and Language Development
Teaching Through Play
Teaching Techniques
Besides
our teaching staff, The Baby Academy has a pool of
experts on call who all share the common goal of
increasing early childhood development at the daycare
center.
Dr.Cherif Erian – is The Baby Academy’s
health and safety expert. He is a pediatrician whose
subspecialty is critical care and pulminology (asthma
and chest problems). Dr. Erian spent 3 years training at
Cairo University before moving to the University of
California in Los Angeles in 1992 to do his fellowship.
In 1997, Dr. Erian moved back to Cairo to open up a
private practice and today he is recognized as one of
the top specialists in his field.
Corrine McComb –
is a learning specialist who has founded and leads the
Keys to Effective Learning organization in Canada and Egypt. Since 1993, she has helped numerous
children with special needs through assessment,
individual education planning and teaching. Corrine
organizes educational workshops for parents, educators
and administrators in both national and international
schools. Corrine offers The Baby Academy her expertise
on teaching techniques and inclusion.
Donia Fahim –
is our speech and language development therapist as well
as our Learning through Play (LP) specialist. She works
with children who have behavior, language, and/or
communication difficulties. She is also Clinical
Director of the Advance School and Chief Speech and
Language Specialist at the Learning Resource Center
(LRC).
Nicole Bomeke –
is a child psychologist with extensive training in
parent/child counseling as well as play therapy and
psycho-educational assessments.
Nicole’s aim is to change behavior through assessment
and therapy.
Nicole offers The Baby Academy her expertise on
psychological assessments, behavior management and
modification.
